Swimmer Profile

All enthusiastic swimmers between the ages of 4 and 18 who enjoy the water are welcomed.  We have four levels that meet the needs for all aspiring swimmers.  The High Point Stingray Team capacity is 144 swimmers due to pool time availability and our efforts to create a quality practice atmosphere with manageable lane sizes.  All practice levels are eligible for meet competitions.  Training groups are put together based on ability, meet performance, and training ability.  Swimmers can be adjusted after initial placement with Coach Kelly's approval.  Swimmers may not move between training groups to accommodate car-pooling or family schedules.  If you have any questions about the practice levels, please contact Coach Kelly by clicking here.

Gold

Experienced swimmer who has the ability and mental maturity to train at high speeds and handle challenging yardage.  Selection for this group will require consistent effort, commitment, and require daily attendance.  They would be involved in the dry land training.

Silver

Younger Experienced swimmer who does all the strokes legally and need more experience in training.  The concept of training sets is introduced to this group.

Bronze

Inexperienced swimmers who need stroke correction on the four main strokes as well as work on starts and turns.  Instruction is given in intervals of 25 M (one lap).  Occasionally, a circle swim set is introduced to the set to test conditioning and maintenance of strokes.  The overall goal is to create swimmers who are knowledgeable on their strokes before training.

Developmental

Duck

Novice swimmer who can swim Freestyle and backstroke.  The main emphasis will be on developing competence in all four strokes.  These swimmers are eligible for all dual meet and invitational meets and participation in swim meets will be decided by Coach Kelly.
